Diabetes occurs due to a disorder of metabolism. People of any age get diabetes. The body does not produce sufficient insulin or use it properly. So it leads to high glucose in blood.

What we eat, is broken down into glucose energy (a form of sugar in the blood). This blood glucose is very important for the proper function of the body. This glucose moves from blood to body cells for growth and energy. But in this insulin plays an important role for glucose to get into cells.
