What is Diabetes?

Diabetes occurs due to a disorder of metabolism. People of any age get diabetes. The body does not produce sufficient insulin or use it properly. So it leads to high glucose in the blood.

What we eat, is broken down into glucose energy (a form of sugar in the blood). This blood glucose is very important for the proper function of the body. This glucose moves from the blood to body cells for growth and energy. But in this insulin plays an important role in glucose getting into cells.

Insulin is a hormone that is produced by the pancreas. When we eat the pancreas produces enough insulin to carry glucose from the blood into the cells. Those people having diabetes, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin so blood glucose (sugar) does not get into the body cell. It passes out of the body in the urine. Body cells are unable to grow and produce energy which is very important for healthy living.

Diabetes Symptoms

  1. Frequent urination
  2. Feeling very thirsty
  3. Feeling very hungry even after eating
  4. Extreme fatigue – tiredness
  5. Blurry vision – Poor eyesight
  6. Weight loss
  7. Itching in the body
  8. Slow healing of wounds
  9. Low sexual power

If you are having these diabetes symptoms then should start to take care immediately.

  1. Regular blood sugar check-ups should be done.
  2. Yoga exercise, fast walking, and jogging are most important. Exercise reduces blood sugar levels and keeps it in control.
  3. Say no to sugar liquid, juice, food, and rice.

Kapalbhati Pranayama is an excellent pranayama to cure and control diabetes. Those having high diabetes should practice for 10 – 30 minutes daily in the morning and evening on an empty stomach.  High blood pressure and heart patients should practice slowly. 3 exhalation in 6 seconds only.

In the market, there are medicines to control only blood sugar but there is no medicine to improve the function of the pancreas which produces the right amount of insulin. Daily practice of kapalbhati improves the function and strength of the pancreas. It regenerates the beta cells of the pancreas. Regular practice cures diabetes also. Yes without medicines you can do this by effective Kapalbhati pranayama breathing exercises. You will notice in 15 minutes that your sugar level starts decreasing immediately. Try it regularly.

We should not ignore the above symptoms otherwise we will have to suffer a complication like numbness in the feet, kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke, blindness and weakness.

    Currently my diabeties level was above 250 but now its control by alleaopatic medicine, i wann to cure it completely so now a day i am doing kapalbharati and anulomvilom, but i have a question that how many time should i do anulomvilom and kapalbharati in a day ? And another question is that keep going to intake medicine along with yoga or only is sufficient for to cure diabeaties completely cure.

    my fbs is 208 taken . the reading taken immediately after eating rice. can my sugar level be reduced by doing kapalbhati for 20 min in the morning and 20 min in the evening?

  • Hi nagaraj,i am also suffering from type 2 and on medicine from last two years.I think you should try Garcinia once in a day along with you insulin tablet to control sugar levels.I also want to stop taking Metformin now this time i will try diabetes yoga but you do diabetes yoga also.for bp you can take amla juice.it will help.

  • First of all people should understand that Diabetes is not as disease, its a metabolic disorder whether Type 1 or 2 that doesn’t matter , Kapalbhati , Anulom Vilom , Mandukasan & Vakrasan alongwith proper diet & timings one can easily cure and stay away from complications of diabetes, I too was a diabetic & now i am 100% cured for long time, my all reports come in normal whenever i get it checked everytime once in year.

      • Madhu do not worry at all, do not depends only on kapalbhati, do kapalbhati for better condition of pancreas, but for immediate action you must fast walking in morning and on evening about 4 to 5 kilometre, so your sugar decrease, take low carbohydrate food

    I daily practice 7 types of pranayama and 26 Asanas. I strongl recommend the below for you.
    1. Kapalbhati pranayama for 15 minutes. Start from 3 min and slowly try to do for 15 min.
    2. Bhastrika for five minutes slowly as you have high BP.
    3. Chandrabhedana and Suryabhedana pranayama
    4.Anulom Vilom
    5. Halasana
    6. Sarvangasana
    7. Ardha matyendrasana
    8 Vakrasasa

  • In January 2016 i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetese. I consult with top doctors of india but they said that insulin is the only way to control it, at that time my fbs was 350( which is very dangerous ) (hba1c was 10.9) at that time my insulin dose was 18 18 18 20. In month of February i started kapalbhati and anulomvilom, after one month my dose starts decreasing and in month of april my insulin dose stops and now my sugar level is fbs-90 rbs-140(hba1c 5.5). So i suggest you all to do yoga continuesly for better result its brilliant. Who says there is no treatment of Type1?

  • Recently 2 month ago I was diagnosed with diabetes..that tym my PP sugar was 280 and weight was 90 kg. Now with yoga exercise and diet my pp sugar is around 130 and weight is 82 kg. I daily practice kapalbhati for 30 mins and anulom vilom for 20 mins..

  • I am 72 years old with double arteries bypasse and one heart valve replacement and having type 2 diabetics since more than 15 years. I daily take my medicines as prescribed by the doctor after heart operation but take my normal diet including little sweets too. The only thing i do is Pranayam and other yogic exercises for one hour minimum daily, including Kapal Bharti for 15 minutes, and it has given me a new lease of life. My resting pulse rate remains at about 58 which is extremely good for this age of persons. I do not feel the necessity of any medical consultation but still undergoes all tests every year and the results are found within limits. I strongly advocate the Kapal Bharti Pranayam for diabetic patients.

      Exercise ur post meal will drop
      As for burning in feet ask ur dr to prescribe multivitamins used for nuropathy

  • Dear Chetan sir I’m 31 yrs old my fbs is 96 and plbs is 198. I have consulted the doctor diabetologist who says that medicines are not needed and moreover anything less than 200 is considered to be normal is what the answer and I checked with couple of doctors even they tell the same but my worry is like I get the burn sensation on my feet when I wear shoes and at early morning when I wake I sense feet tingling can u please guide me suggest me what is to be done please help me out from this hell.

      Type 1 diabetes is not curable but you can control type 2.
      Kapalbhati pranayama improves the function of pancreas. Pancreas produces sufficient amount of insulin hormone to maintain normal blood sugar level. Kapalbhati pranayama helps to lower down high blood sugar. In the beginning you should practice it for 4-5 minutes but slowly. After good practice you can increase your practice for 15- 20 minutes. Kapalbhati will help you to maintain your normal blood sugar. You should go for 30 minutes walking in the morning and evening. After walking take 15 minutes rest and start anulom vilom and kapalbhati pranayama.

  • My brother is suffering from type 1 diabetis(body doesn’t produce insulin). He is taking insulin morning and evening. Can type 1 diabetis be controlled with pranayam?

      Actually type 1 diabetes is difficult to treat because body does not produce insulin. But don’t be nervous. Your brother should practice kapalbhati pranayama daily in the morning and evening for 10 minutes. He can increase duration as per stamina. Should not over do. Kapalbhati pranayama and other pranayama will increase his immunity power and function of pancreas.

    i am diabetic i am under insulin, twice in a day in the mornig and before breakfast i take 25 units ans in the evening before supper i take 20 units i try to control as moch as possible i don’t eat neither sweety meals nor sweeiy drinks ,i only practice sport a little my question is as follow do you think my treaiment os insulin is ik? is there any new medecine for diabetic ,what about creatininze the last analysis shows 15 mg the normal is between 6 and 14 so please tell me what do you thin about all this ? ,thank you very much

      Everything is depend upon function of pancreas. If it is proper than everything is good. You should practice kapalbhati pranayama everyday in the morning and evening. It will improve the function of pancreas naturally you can continue with your medicines. But yoga will boost your immune system and function of pancreas and other organs. Kapalbhati pranayama will lower down your creatinine level in few days. Yes its true.
