  • I am 77 years of age and have been a diabetic (hereditary) for last 13 years. Though not an overweight and fairly active when so diagnosed at the time of detection, most treatments did not not control my sugar levels behaviour for first 5 years. That made me adopt Yoga with firmer commitment. Now for last 10 years, I practice yoga and pranayam every day (barring aberrations) and have greatly modified my food intake to vegetable fibre and millets, curds with cinnamon and raw haldi, amla and methi powders in the mornings. I joyfully conduct two yoga sessions in my locality, work on computers 5-6 hrs a day, drive around in horrible traffic, take very vigorous walk every evening and have ZERO bodily complaints. My message: Shake-off laziness, take charge, live a day with resolve, zest and commitment.

I have been diagnosed with high BP in Nov 2013 (37 year old). My readings were 200/110. Though advised medication, i stayed away from it and practicing Pranayama (all seven types). However, my BP though after a year continues to be on the higher side i.e. 160-170/90.
I learnt the pranayama through seeing aastha channel (Baba Ramdev program). Though overall i feel good, what duration it takes to control the BP completely solely through pranayama
