Top 10 home remedies for flu

Ginger, honey, lemon, garlic, peppermint, mustard, orange juice are excellent home remedies for flu (Influenza). These home remedies are good to boost the immune system.

  1. Honey

    It is full of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Excellent for boosting the immune system and reducing symptoms of flu. Add one tablespoon of honey in warm water and drink for 3 times in a day. You can mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. This mixture is best in treating the flu.

  2. Lemon

    It is a good source of antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a glass of warm water and drink for 3 times in a day. It reduces the symptoms of flu and weaken the flu virus in the body.

  3. Ginger

    It is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. Add crushed ginger and one tablespoon of honey in boiling water. This ginger tea will strengthen the immune system and reduces various symptoms of the flu.

  4. Garlic

    It is full of natural antiviral, anti fungal, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Drink teaspoon of garlic juice with water will relieve various flu symptoms and boost the immune system.

  5. Peppermint

    Add chopped peppermint leaves in boiling water for some time. Drinking this warm water for 3-4 times will relieve congestion and fight flu symptoms.

  6. A warm shower

    It will help you to open up your blocked nose and ease congestion. You will feel fresh and relax. If you are sweating more than have a cool shower to feel better.

  7. Chicken soup

    The study says that chicken soup works excellent like other home remedies for flu and cold. It reduces symptoms of flu. Excellent to releases viral infection and thinning mucus.

  8. Drink more water

    It will keep you hydrated.

  9. Orange juice

    It is rich in vitamin c. Drinking orange juice for 3-4 times in a day will keep you hydrated and boost the immune system. It will increase the production of white blood cells.

  10. Mustard

    It is full of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Add one tablespoon of dry mustard, four tablespoons of flour, one egg white in little bit warm water. Now your paste is ready. Take a clean cloth and the smear mustard paste on it and put another cloth on it like a sandwich. Rub some olive oil on chest of the patient and put a mustard plaster on it for 10 minutes. It cures cold and flu.

Practice kapalbhati and bhastrika pranayama to boost your immune system naturally. If your immune system is good then you will never suffer from cough, cold and flu.  After all precaution is better than cure.
