Symptoms of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

As we read in our previous article high blood pressure or hypertension is a condition in which the force of the blood in the arteries is high. This high blood pressure can cause, stroke,  heart attack, and blockages in arteries.

Usually, there are no signs and symptoms of hypertension or high blood pressure. So it is called a silent killer. People who are suffering from high blood pressure don’t know it until it is checked.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases the risk of health problems like heart attack and stroke without showing any symptoms.

Symptoms of Hypertension

In some cases, a person having high blood pressure may experience symptoms like,

  1. Headache
  2. Blurry vision
  3. Nausea, vomiting
  4. Shortness of breath
  5. Chest pain
  6. Irregular heartbeat
  7. Blood in the urine

Hypertension may lead to serious health problems like

  1. Stroke
  2. Heart attack
  3. Kidney problems – Narrowing blood vessels in kidneys
  4. Damaging eyes – May torn blood vessels in the eyes
  5. May affect the ability to think or remember.
  6. Trouble with memory

Causes of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

  1. Stress.
  2. The high amount of salt in food.
  3. No exercise.
  4. Smoking.
  5. Alcohol.
  6. Weight gain.
