Losing Belly Fat Fast By Kapalbhati Pranayama at Home

Obesity or Weight gain problem is common nowadays and it is serious. Suffering from obesity or weight gain causes heart problems, diabetes, blood pressure and other serious health issues. Taking help of yoga for losing belly fat or weight loss is always the best option.

In yoga, Kapalbhati pranayama is a most recommended breathing exercise to reduce fat and blood sugar. It is one of the favorite asanas of yoga people to lose weight naturally and controlling obesity.

Steps for Kapalbhati Pranayama for Losing Belly Fat

For Kapalbhati practice, you can check our previous article Breathing Exercise – Kapalbhati Pranayama.

  1. Sit on the flat floor and fold your legs. keep the spine straight and close the eyes.
  2. Keep the right palm on right knee and left palm on left knee.
  3. Now breathe slowly and exhale with all your force so your stomach will go deep inside.
  4. Repeat this cycle for 15 times if you are a beginner.

In Kkapalbhati exhaling with all your force with the nose is important till your stomach goes deep inside. Keep in mind, only exhaling should be done completely with full force but not inhaling. Do not focus on inhaling because it will happen naturally after exhaling. Repeat this exercise for 5 minutes. In the beginning, you can practice for 15 breathing but after you can increase to 60. You can take rest for some time before starting again.

Research says that kapalbhati pranayama removes air and carbon dioxide from lungs completely and helps for losing belly fat fast.

Kapalbhati pranayama is excellent for burning fat, losing belly fat, curing acidity, asthma, breast cancer, sinus problem, indigestion, and constipation.

Precautions

Those suffering from respiratory problem should consult a doctor before practicing Kapalbhati pranayama. Kapalbhati pranayama should be done on an empty stomach and under expert guidance. Pregnant women should not practice this asana.

    I delivered my baby in beginning of August’16 through a c-section and post delivery i have gained almost 8 kgs and i still look like 6 months pregnant. My height is 5′ and now my weight is 60kgs. My waist size has increased from 28 to 38. I am breastfeeding my baby so i have to take good diet especially milk multiple times. I want to get rid of this extra weight before joining office in January. So basically i have only 2 months.     I commute for more than 3 hours in a day in local trains. Male 29. I have been troubled by my tummy. However.. it is clearly above my abdomen. So to say my waist size has luckily remained unchanged.

    I don’t drink beer.

    My query is.. can I practice Kapabhati while commuting/standing? Will the effect be the same or it is useless or harmful?

      Yes you do it. But do it after 10 – 15 minutes After drinking water. Just to feel stomach is empty. If possible after drinking warm lemon water go for walk or jogging. After finishing jogging, walking, other physical exercises or yoga poses take rest of 15 minutes then start breathing exercises.

      Basically women who have gone through cesarean should practice yoga after 4 -5 months after delivery. Or after normal delivery also you should wait for 3-4 months. Till then you can do fast walking.

      You can practice bellow yoga poses and pranayama.

      1. Suryanamaskar
      2. Uttanpadasana (Raised Leg Pose)
      3. Naukasana (Boat Pose)
      4. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
      5. Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
      6. Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend Pose)

      8. Kapalbhati pranayama
      9. Anulom vilom pranayama

      But you should continue with your doctor diet plan and check up also.

    I am 42 years old male. My weight is 105 kgs : hieght is 5′.7″. I am using tablets for BP (Tazlok AM) for last five months. Now Bp is 130/90 or 140/95 when i get it checked now & then. (Earlier when it was detected it was 160/100.) I am a computer
    professional, sit before system for about 12 hrs a day.

      1. Rubbing palms and keeping warm palms on your eyes for some times
      2. Blinking your eyes quickly for 5-10 minutes
      3. Rotational viewing for 5 minutes
      4. Viewing upwards and down simultaneously for 5 minutes
      5. Focusing your eyes on the left thumb then right for some time. (Thumb points upwards and hand should be parallel to ground)
      6. Seven pranayama
      These all exercises will improve your eyesight.

        Btw…last week, during one of my yoga lesson, i suddenly felt head spinning & dizzy after doing Kapalbhati Pranayama…then my leg , hand & jaw became numb…..i can’t move my finger….my instructor have asked me to lay down and i did so for one hour…
        What causes this? Is it advisable for me to continue as this experience really scare me…

          Kapalbhati is one of the best pranayama to keep us healthy and fit. There are some rules before pranayama.

          1. It should not be done directly after any physical exercise like jogging, walking or any gym exercise
          2. You should take at least 15 minutes gap then start pranayama
          3. High blood pressure patient should practice kapalbhati at a slow rate. Means 3 exhalations per 5 seconds and force of exhalation should be reduced.
          4. Should not over do. After good practice you can increase your duration
          Practice is slowly.
          5. Should not eat just before pranayama it will increase complications. Pranayama should be done on an empty stomach.
          6. We will suggest you to practice very slowly.
          7. Those practice it for the first time they feel like spinning and dizzy after kapalbhati. But should start slowly if you feel uncomfortable. After 3-4 days you will become expert and then see.
          8. You can practice it for 2 minutes slowly for the first time then you can increase your time.
          9. Practice makes us perfect so keep it up.
          10. Keep you mind cool and practice it.
          11. If you feel spinning then stop it and just relax.
          12. Practice under expert guidance.
